Part of the iGEM experience is to reach out to the community to truly understand the problems we are trying to address and received feedback to incorporate into our project design. We also reach out to the community through visits to high school biology classes, farmer's markets, county fairs, and public events to engage about genetic engineering, GMOs, and synthetic biology. We have hosted the Mid-Atlantic Meetup and collaborate with nearby iGEM teams from around the East Coast.
